Regional Manager and Line Operator – Michigan Mobile Canning

Job Title: Regional Manager and Line Operator

Location: Kzoo or GR is preferred but not required

Compensation: Full-time, competitive salary

Overview: This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role at a growing start-up. Michigan Mobile Canning, a mobile canning company that packages beer for many of Indiana and Michigan’s top craft breweries, is seeking a dependable, hardworking individual to help manage its Michigan location and serve as a lead canning line operator.

Responsibilities:
Managing MMC’s Michigan location:
    ◦    Leading and training a canning line crew
    ◦    Managing inventory in our Portage/Kzoo warehouse
    ◦    Building strong, lasting relationships with Michigan/Indiana breweries

All aspects of operating a beer packaging line, including:
    ◦    Mastering the ins and outs of operating a Wild Goose 250 canning line
    ◦    Troubleshooting beer conditions and mechanical problems
    ◦    Extensive cleaning and sanitizing of the equipment
    ◦    Enforcing quality control, efficiency, and accurate statistical tracking
    ◦    Working closely with brewery owners, head brewers, and all brewery staff

Lead Operator

The LEAD OPERATOR serves as the manager of each job, taking lead on both operation of the line and communications with the client. 

Responsibilities include:
During a job
Successful calibration of the product, occasionally under difficult, out-of-spec conditions
Troubleshooting mechanical problems that may arise during a job
Extensive pre- and post-job cleaning and sanitizing of the equipment
Lead on completing Trip Log and gathering QA cans, as well as any additional quality control and efficiency activities
Working closely with brewery owners, head brewers, and additional staff
Driving the truck and ensuring all necessary supplies (ends, PakTech, cardboard) were loaded
Lead in loading and unloading truck

Between jobs
Regular line maintenance as described in the Maintenance Log
Lead communications and logistics on scheduling and supply packing
Managing and maintaining warehouse supply inventory
Ideal candidates display the following qualities:
Previous brewery or packaging experience, though not mandatory
Mechanical skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment on-site
Attentiveness, quick reaction and decision making ability
Leadership ability
Willingness to work long hours in occasionally temperature-unfriendly environments
Passion for and knowledge of craft beer and cider


Assistant Operator

The ASSISTANT OPERATOR serves as the front-end operator, ensuring the machine is running properly throughout the job. 

Responsibilities include:
During a job
Assist Lead Operator in successful calibration of the product
Lead on the “filling side” of the machine
Troubleshooting mechanical problems that may arise during a job
Extensive pre- and post-job cleaning and sanitizing of the equipment
Secondary on Enforcing quality control, efficiency, and accurate statistical tracking
Working closely with brewery owners, head brewers, and additional staff
Assist in loading and unloading truck

Between jobs
